Organic Search Engine Optimisation Study

Client: Major UK Commercial Law Firm (ongoing project)

Goals: Our client wanted to increase non-brand driven traffic to their website. To achieve this goal, customers needed to be able to find the website using various key phrases, including commercial law firm London, commercial law firm Sheffield, environmental lawyers london, debt trading, and dispute resolution for various sectors.

Solution: Search engine traffic to the site was driven exclusively by brand name and partner names. By focusing on key service areas combined with geograpical targets, Intendance optimised landing pages to increase relevant traffic to the client's website. We also found relevant linking partners, along with industry specific directories, which were used in a natural linking strategy intended to bring additional traffic to the site, as well as increase visibility of the company.

Results Achieved: Within 4 months, results changed from not listed in the top 30 search results to

Key Phrase Google UK Yahoo UK MSN UK
Commercial law firm Sheffield 3 4 1
Commercial law firm London 4 5 5
Debt trading 1 2 2
Engineering dispute resolution 1 3 3
Environmental lawyers London 5 1 1

Intendance tracked the key phrase traffic through their Google analytics account, and found that within one month of achieving higher ranking results, our client saw an overall increase in web traffic by 25%, and an increase to specific landing pages optimised for the SEO campaign increased by 36.13%.  We feel that, considering the economic climate and increased competition from other law firms, this is an outstanding result for our client.

Organic Search Engine Optimisation Study

Client: London based Language Services Company

Goals: The goals for this client were to drive traffic to their brand new website. They offered language translation and interpreting services, specialising in travel and tourism industries like airlines, tour operators, and travel companies.

Solution: Intendance worked closely with the client to discern their goals for the website. By understanding their customers and their business goals, we were able to develop a very focused organic search campaign. We centered the campaign around specific services they offered to London businesses, using key phrases including translation services London and cultural awareness training, along with industry specific phrases such as language training for cabin crews.

Results Achieved: Within 3 months, ranking results changed from not in the top 30 search results to

Key Phrase Google UK Yahoo UK MSN UK
Cultural awareness training 3 5 7
Language translators London 5 6 3
English language training 3 9 7
Foreign language training 2 8 10
Translation services London 9 5 8

Intendance used the client's Google analytics account to track traffic from the SEO campaign. Within the 3 month period, our client experienced an increase of over 240% in non-brand traffic from search engines. Inquiries regarding their services increased by 70%, and net profits tripled within that time frame. Visiblity to our client's website increased dramatically, and as a direct result they acquired a new account with a major airline!

Pay Per Click Management Study (Google AdWords)

Client: Major London Law Firm offering both commercial and individual services

Goals: Our client wanted to drive traffic to their website for extremely competitive keywords. We recommended a combination of organic SEO and pay per click campaign using Google Adwords. Their goals were to focus on specific practice areas, such as criminal law, family law, and employment law.

Solution: Intendance implemented both campaigns, but as key phrases like divorce lawyer can take months to show an increase in rank for organic search, our team recommended those competitive phrases be implemented in a PPC campaign for instant visibility. We researched key phrases for all three campaigns, and set those campaigns up for Google search, their search partners, and content placements including the Guardian website and divorce websites and forums.

Results Achieved: Visibility was instantly increased for the law firm across the three campaigns. The firms criminal campaign is driving almost 60% of the pay per click traffic. The landing pages for that campaign also have the lowest bounce rates, as well as the highest conversions. The criminal division is currently overwhelmed with new business, with substantial increases in the business for divorce law, prenuptial agreements, and employment claims (dismissal and discrimination). Organic results are improving steadily, but predominant non-brand traffic still originates from the pay per click campaigns. The client has been so impressed wtih these campaigns, they have now asked us to implement a new campaign focusing on immigration, in addition to the three campaigns we are already managing.

Intendance uses the client's analytics account, which is tied to their Adwords account to measure relevant paid and non-paid traffic. We have set goals through analytics to measure conversion funnel paths, and the client has set up specific email addresses to be targeted for each campaign. As a result, the marketing director for the firm can analyse conversions coming through phone calls, emails, and submit forms.
