How sharepoint can integrate with MySource Matrix CMS
Well, here’s some news to make all you Sharepoint users perk up
Intendance is pleased to announce that MySource Matrix – Intendance`s content management system (CMS)– can now be integrated with Sharepoint, Microsoft’s market-leading document management platform.
For far too long the inability to create an easy, out of the box integration between a web CMS and a document management system has caused headaches for large enterprises: many users have just have had to put up with two separate content repositories that could never mix and mingle.
However, this is all changing now. Here's what the new MySource Matrix Document Management Integration Widget will currently do:
• The first component will allow web-based form submissions to be written into Sharepoint as records. In essence, this will allow you to use the CMS` custom form asset to expose parts of your Sharepoint interface to your website / intranet.
This means that any forms-based data on these sites will be passed directly into Sharepoint without any unnecessary syncing or replicating. In turn this should reduce your admin/development time and ensure that your data quality is always up to scratch.
• The second component is more obvious and more exciting. Matrix will allow you to list records from SharePoint using a standard Matrix 'asset listing' (the MySource Matrix content listing engine). This means that if your Sharepoint documents are web-enabled then you'll be able to present them seamlessly to your web/intranet users inline with your Matrix-based content assets.
In practice this means that you'll be able to abolish any 'silo' approaches that you might have previously had in the production and management of your content, because regardless of where a document sits - Matrix or Sharepoint - it can now be presented in different web-based channels for different requirements.
